MadStage, based in Madison, Wisconsin, is an online guide for local performing artists, audiences and those wanting to get involved in performing arts.
Since starting in 1997, it has grown to include the whole state of Wisconsin. With that in mind, my main goal when approaching this redesign was to create a strong visual hierarchy to help quickly direct people toward a specific category or the correct calendar.
Because this website was originally designed in the ‘90s, I also wanted to take a crack at giving the design a refresh, emphasizing the idea of many parts (performing arts) coming together to create one, cohesive guide.

This collage-based design was created in XD, Photoshop and Illustrator. The painted and vector elements were made by me, as well as the photo treatment used on the stock images and public domain illustrations. The rebrand includes a new logo, a website, a poster series, business cards, an environmental graphic, a series of Instagram posts, two sticker sets and a series of tote bags.
