This is a title sequence I created for The Ring (2002) in After Effects. The film has a very quiet, moody feeling. However, I wanted to approach it through the lens of feminine rage because the film is about a girl who is so angry about the way she died that she literally becomes a vengeful spirit. The duality of the subdued blue/green and the red is my attempt to marry the original color story of the film with my interpretation.
I used stock photos to create composite images and did color manipulation in Photoshop. I painted the shape of The Ring in Illustrator. I used royalty-free music and sound effects to design the sound, which I edited using Audacity and After Effects. I also edited the stock video and typography in After Effects.
